When I started working on this piece I let materials enfold in an intuitive way rather than determining what the final structure would be. During the writing process, with the influence of other string quartet music I was listening to at the time, such as Ravel and Hindemith's quartets, I decided to explored an unfamiliar path in my musical creation. I cut all the music I had written till that point into sections and worked on developing each of the sections individually. This process allowed me to give closer attention to time pacing and motivic use. After each section has been well established by its own, I joined all pieces together in there proper placement inside the linear musical timeline.
