Florie Namir is a jazz-pop artist who combines pre-war American vocal jazz with old-school pop (The Beatles, Elton John, etc.). Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Namir received her PhD in Classical Composition and traveled the world as a concert-hall composer before transitioning to original songwriting. Namir’s songs are sophisticated yet always accessible. A photographer and artist, Namir brings a penchant for capturing snapshots of experiences to her music, describing every day life in a personal, suggestive way. Namir has performed at the Boston Jewish Music Festival (2015), the Mondo.NYC Festival (2016), Sofar Sounds, Boston (2017). She is no stranger to Boston's music scene, having played at The Burren Backroom Series and at Brighton Music Hall, where she opened for Boston’s vocal powerhouse Ruby Rose Fox last June. Her debut studio album will be released in June 2018.
